Party Anxiety

Do you know how many fun events I have missed in my life because I listened to the Anxiety Monster? That’s all it is, he robs your self-esteem, makes you worry and just wants you to shut down. Here is the true test if you truly want to Hatch, don’t give in! Have faith, get dressed and head out the door. You can live without your jammies and Facebook for one evening.

I found if I just didn’t have the courage I would pretend to be someone else. It’s kind of fun to pretend you are someone you might have envied before. How would they dress, act, what would they talk about? It removes you from the situation.

Another thought to keep in your mind is that you never know if you are going to meet someone that will pass a “gift” on to you. A little word or thought that might adjust your thinking. I told you the story of my elderly friend that believed everyday had gifts waiting for her. It was her job to go through the day looking for them. I recently was apprehensive about going to a party. Only to get there and start talking with someone new and she suffered from terrible anxiety. Funny how that just kind of fell in my lap. I was able to share my story, offer some hope and invite her to join this community. See I had a gift to pass a long. You might find someone who needs a gift from you. You are more powerful than you think. Now I look at it as I am supposed to be there. What can I leave with? A funny story, hug from a friend, a night of belly laughs?

Few things to think about on your night out.

* Make sure to wear comfortable clothes, but feel good about yourself.

* Don’t drink too much soda or alcohol. Can stimulate anxiety and panic.

* Make sure if your neves are stirred up to take controlled deep belly breaths. Nobody will even notice you doing it.

* Know where water is. Remember if you get those weird anxiety feelings to have your water with you. Will send the Panic Monster away.

Have fun!! Don’t anticipate, just participate! That way you will be open and receptive to those gifts.
We would love to hear how your Holiday parties and events turned out!  Your words will light the way for the next Peep.

Enjoy yourself!
